Faculty Video
A few years ago I facilitated a Community of Practice for faculty at UW-Eau Claire on how to develop an immersion experience. My colleague, Dr. Jyl Kelley, participated on my trip as a part of her final project for the community of practice. She developed the video below as her final project. She went on to create her own immersion experience where she took her art students to Thailand to install an art exhibit! It was an amazing experience for both of us to learn together in the community of practice and I am grateful for the promotional video that she produced.
Other Student Videos
Other students have prepared videos about the trip. You can check some of them out below!
One video is the result of a project done by one of the students in a communication and journalism course led by my colleague, Dr. Jan Larson. Like Dr. Kelley, she was in a similar Community of Practice that I led on how to create immersion opportunities within your discipline. For Jan's final project, she created a course on social justice reporting and her students now come on the trip with us. They produce some wonderful work that showcases their learning.
Another student shares his own growth and development as a result of the trip. He also shares how he will USE what he learned on the trip to make change. This is music to a change agent's ears!
