Women of the Civil Rights Movement Online Project
Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio of Women of the Civil Rights Movement. I have enjoyed the last eight weeks learning how to construct an online learning experience. I am excited to be able to use the skills I've learned when I put my course online. This ePortfolio features both work from my eLearning course and WMNS 222: Women of the American Civil Rights Movement course that I am currently teaching.
I have worked at UW-Eau Claire for 20 years. Although my primary responsibilities are in Student Affairs as the Associate Dean of Students, I really enjoy the opportunity to teach a class each semester. I have a passion for social justice issues and the course I teach is a wonderful opportunity for me to use that passion in to inspire others to put their own passion into action.
When I am not working, I can be found shuttling my four children (17, 15, 7, and 6) to and from their many activities. I also enjoy coaching my daughters in softball and coordinating the Eau Claire Fastpitch Softball program. If I get a minute to myself, I love to garden, sew, and read.
Feel free to email me at [email protected] or call me at 715-836-2325.

I coordinate the trip with a team of six to eight students each year. Here we are the Reverend Samuel 'Billy' Kyles following his speech to our group about his experience as one of the people on the balcony with Dr. King when he was assassinated. The chance to meet with history makers to gain knowledge to prepare future change agents for action has been the most significant experience in my twenty year career. I hope you enjoy learning more about my course, trip, and the learning I gained through this course!
