Activities
Here are the chunks and text I developed in my work on Form 10 during week 7 (Note that I have not yet completed the quizzes):
Before we can jump into the modern civil rights movement and learn more about the women who shaped the movement from 1954 to 1970, we need to learn more about the events that led up to it. Take some time to work your way through the powerpoint outlining those major events.

Let's test your learning by completing the quiz for this module. Don’t be afraid to take it multiple times until you master the content.
QUIZ UNDER CONSTRUCTION
When you know you have a good understanding of the events of the movement you’ll be ready to learn more about the specific women who shaped the early movement. The events leading up to the modern movement were significant and many important women played an important role in that early movement. Let's take some time to get to know them better because they provide inspiration to the women of the modern movement. There are specific lessons we can learn from the women who set the stage for the modern movement. Take a look at the Powerpoint that provides an overview of some of the work of these women.
Before we move on to study a few of the women in more depth, test your learning by completing the quiz for this module. Don’t be afraid to take it multiple times until you master the content.

The overview of the many women who shaped the early movement is helpful to frame the movement’s direction. There a several women who play a critical role in the movement. Next let’s get to know a few of them better. One of the most prominent women of the early reform movement was Ida B. Wells. She used her gifts as a writer to shine a spotlight on lynching and launched an anti-lynching movement that spread around the world. To get a glimpse of her "passion for justice" view the clip below from her biography.
Participate in Discussion responding one of questions options below. Respond to at least three other students’ posts.
Questions:
What lessons does Ida B. Wells' experience as an anti-lynching activist teach us?
How does Ida B. Wells use media to make social change? Are there ways we can use what we learn from her to make social change today?
